Come back soon!!

Everyday I wake up in the morning and offer a silent prayer for your return. I  remember the peaceful days of not-so-long-ago! The days when you would come to my house every day. And I remember the comfort your daily visit offered me. When I could concentrate on the things I enjoy and leave all other worries to you. When I could look forward to lazy afternoons and soothing evenings with my laptop or a book_ because of you! I never realized what a blessing you were, till the day you stopped coming.
Your absence has created a void in my life, and it has drained out all the energy from me. Every morning I realize that this is going to be one more day without you. And then I start worrying about a hundred little things. Things and chores that you took care of!
It has been 25 days!! O' my dear maid! When are you going to cut short your unexpected leave and resume your responsibilities? My house and dozens of mundane chores are waiting for you! :)

The Nile experience!

Nile!!Flowing effortlessly! With thousands of years of secrets beneath its surface.....
It was a friday night. We were a group of friends and family. A big spacious boat was hired. And the magic had begun!
It was breezing pleasantly.  All around us were calm waters of NILE! The beautiful lights from cruises shimmered on the waters. The soft beats of arabic music danced on the waters. A picture perfect scene out of  a fairy tale book! It was Oh-so - beautiful!!! The cairo tower could be seen in the background. The moon was shining brightly. The night was cold, the atmosphere was perfect. Perfect for a perfect date with a perfect someone!!
It was one of those nights when the heart just skips a beat for no apparent reason. When one wants to be a poet , a writer, an artist and a photgrapher, everything at once, to capture the beauty of the moment. It was one of those mysterious nights when an unknown longing, a dull ache, a sudden surge of emotions fills the heart.

AH! the enchanting Nile! Those mesmerizing waters! An experience etched in the memory forever....

My two boys!!

My two boys, as different as chalk and cheese!!!
One lives by the maxim "it pays to be hard working"
the other lives by the maxim " it pays to be charming"!!

One is book smart,
the other is street smart.

One chooses his friends carefully,
the other makes friends with every tom, dick and harry.

One  appreciates quality food
the other thrives on junk food!

One enjoys building new things
the other loves destroying those things.

One  is studious,
the other is vivacious!

One avoids girls,
the other loves them! :)

One lives by the rules,
the other makes his own set of rules!!

But despite all their differences , they r united on some fronts, like nagging me for snacks whole day, asking endless questions, making a mess of their room, following me everywhere in house, and the list is endless!!!

BUT.....there is no difference in their love for me and mine for them!! God bless them!!

Playing with colors!

Oil on canvas

I painted this horse years back, and it has stayed with me ever since. I remember that five of my classmates including me started to paint the same horse from a picture in a book. And much to the amusement of our arts sir and everyone else, all the five paintings turned out completely different from each other. May be that's what playing with colors means!  :)
